"Glorious Mud" - a National Tree Day ch
ildren's art activity with Artist: Tamara Marwood.
Supported by the City of Greater Bendigo, Children's Art Network.
Mud is deliciously irresistible to a child's hand. We invited children to participate in the Glorious Mud workshop and create a playful mud sculpture that celebrated Tree Day.
Thanks to: Tamara, and her team of artists: Amy, Meg, Alysha, Aeysha, Skye, Cooper, Brock, Ally, Maddison, Eve, Arwen, Logan, Ned and Sam.
Comments from participants
"I liked making a mud picture because it was fun squashing the mud". 4 year old Ned
"The mud felt cold and sloppy". 2 year old Sam
"I was at the tree planting with some of the other girl guides from Strathfieldsaye. We had good fun planting the seedlings and it was really easy so anyone could do it if they want to give it a try next year. My main mud sculpture was of a big tree with bark and branches. I made a tree because we were there planting trees. It has a hole at the bottom that a wombat lives in, and a row of ants going up the tree to their nest. I also made a mud face with grass for hair and wattle blossoms for eyes." Eve
"I was at the tree planting with the Girl Guides as well. It was lots of fun digging the holes to put the plants in. I made a mud volcano which was a bit flat, and a pond with some boats in it, but they sank!" Arwen
